Pamela Anderson dances her way to Israel
There is exciting news in the pipeline for fans of the popular reality show Rokdim Im Kokhavim (Dancing with Stars).
Reshet, one of the two concessionaires running Channel 2, announced few days ago that Canadian actress and playboy model Pamela Anderson will be a guest judge for a number of episodes in the upcoming season. Reshet reported: “The new season of Dancing with the Stars is the biggest and most grandiose yet. Surprising guests and participants are expected.”
Pamela, 43, is best known for her role on the American TV series Baywatch, as well as her appearances in Playboy magazine. Pam is slated for a number of episodes as a judge and as a guest dancer, but will not be one of the competitors. She will be paid thousands of dollars for her participation. She is well acquainted with the “Dancing with the Stars” format as she was recently a contestant on the American version of the show.
The agreement securing her participation on the Israeli show was recently signed between her representatives and Reshet. According to the agreement, she will be a guest judge on a number of episodes alongside the regular panel of Hanna Laszlo, Claude Dadia, and Eli Mizrahi. Anderson will also perform a few dance numbers on the show.
Based on a popular British reality TV series Strictly Come Dancing, Rokdim Im Kokhavim began airing in 2005 and has gained momentum among viewers ever since. It features celebrities partnered with professional dancers for weekly ballroom dancing competitions. The judges and viewers then vote off the weakest pairs.
While Pamela will be a judge in her upcoming guest appearances, she competed as a contestant in the American version of the show, Dancing with the Stars, last May. She was voted off in the fifth round, but America’s loss is Israel’s gain; the former celebrity participant now has some firsthand expertise as she judges Israeli contestants.
However, Pamela will not be the only person generating news for the sixth season of Rokdim Im Kokhavim. There are rumors that news reporter Gili Shem-Tov will be the first gay dancer on the series. She is to dance with a female partner.
